2008
1 Hotel – Founding of HR Group and acquisition of the Hotel Markgraf Leipzig
2009
Establishment of a central management structure and development of owner-operator structure.
2010
4 Hotels – Acquisition of three hotel properties and takeover of hotel operations. Development to preferred franchise partner of Accor.
2011
5 Hotels – Development of an in-house P&L business intelligence tool, accompanied by the acquisition of one further hotel.
2012
6 Hotels – “Newcomer of the Year” by Treugast with an A rating in the investment ranking.
2013
10 Hotels – Acquisition of a portfolio with four hotels.
2014 / 2015
12 Hotels – First hotel lease agreement with a German institutional investor. Already more than 2,000 hotel rooms operated by HR Group back then.
2016
22 Hotels – Acquisition of a portfolio with seven hotels. New headquarter build in Berlin with over 1,000 employees across the group.
2017
25 Hotels – HR Group is listed in the AHGZ rating operators in Germany and rated with an AA in the Treugast Investment ranking.
2018
34 Hotels – Addition of more than 1,000 hotel rooms through an acquisition of a portfolio with five hotels and five single assets.
2019
35 Hotels – HR Group is listed in the AHGZ Top 20 hotel operators rating.
2020
51 Hotels – Acquisition of 16 Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts and takeover of Pullman Berlin Schweizerhof.
2021
77 Hotels – Acquisition of 24 Vienna House hotels and expansion to Poland and Austria.
2022
145 Hotels – Acquisition of Success Hotel Group as well as Amedia Hotel Group. Furthermore, acquisition of 20 Vienna House hotels and Revo Munich, followed by four further hotels.
2023
185 Hotels – Acquisition to be majority shareholder in Absolute Hotel Services (AHS) with 40 hotels.
2024
191 Hotels – Takeover of Centro portfolio including 28 operating lifestyle hotels, extending the European market with 2,400 rooms. Signing of the multi-brand Columbia portfolio including 21 hotels.
196 Hotels – Aquisition of 5-star Grand Hotel Belvédère and Boutique Hotel Sylt followed by opening two hotel projects. The group now has over 7,000 employees.
